Bashir Badr, a humiliation for Urdu fraternity

Bashir Badr, an all right poet, has lately turned out to be a shame for the entire Urdu society. His unnecessary arrogance and bragging statements suggest that he is contiguous megalomania.
In a fresh interview published in a well-known Hindi daily newspaper, Badr, said that if Mir and Ghalib were living even they would be envious of his recognition. Despite the fact that the interviewer didn’t ask him, he repeatedly said that he owns luxurious house that has over ten rooms on both the floors.

Badr is the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy and got the post due to ingratiating ways. When asked why the Academy has stopped publishing books and helping writers who are living in poverty, he said that he was not conscious of that.
When he was asked that an experienced poet like Raza Rampuri is critically ill and needs pecuniary support but why the Academy wasn’t concerned, Badar didn’t bother to answer. Flying off at a digression, Badr said that he considerd Atal Bihari Vajpayee as his father.
He kept on saying things like, “I make lot of cash, earn thousands for a single couplet” and that he is “the last poet in the line of great poets of Urdu that is a language borne out of Sanskrit”.
