Orya Maqbool a great Urdu columist

Orya Maqbool Jan is a famous columnist, poet and CSP officer from Pakistan, who writes Urdu columns for Newspaper in Pakistan. He has received several national awards, which includes the best Urdu columnist in 2004. His one compilation of poetry has been in paper.

He writes some though provoking articles in Express Newspaper of Pakistan. Especially on the present situation of Pakistan, when there is so much corruption, insecurity, inflation, natural disasters, Electricity crisis, sugar crisis and much more. He presents Islamic perspective with solutions. He speaks against the unjust operation in Pakistan. His Urdu columns are one of the most read columns in Pakistan. He has done Masters in social work from Punjab University, Lahore. He has been DC and DM of three districts for five years. This involves an overall liability of law and order, monitoring of development actions, welfare of people, revenue collection human resources management and community relationship of a very sensitive nature. He has written many papers and one of which is "Comprehensive plan for Improvement of Quetta water Supply and Sewerage System". He has also worked as a M.D. of Baluchistan water & sanitation authority. Having experience as a Director, Social Welfare, Human Rights and Women Development worked as counterpart project director with UNICEF and was responsible for controlling, supervising and facilitating NGOs and voluntary organizations.
