Urdu Literature in India

Urdu literature is a huge ground of enormous information and rich literary works by well-known poets and writers. Despite the fact that Hindi is somewhat life Urdu, they have developed and evolved on distinct lines. Urdu language prose has in essence drained much insight from Persian literature. Even in the present day, Urdu has a lot of words that belong to Persian, Arabic and Turkish languages. Hindi has drawn inspiration mainly from Sanskrit. A unique blend of all these languages can be found in the literature in Urdu language, which can be called a union of the richest languages.

The dictionary of Urdu language has a massive reserve of literary words that are utterly meaningful and beautiful. The sophistication and grace of Urdu language is owing to its rich glossary. The most noted poet who gave the earliest push to Urdu poetry was Amir Khusro, who is still respected in our day, centuries after his death. His poems are still read with much eagerness and empathy by poetry lovers all over the world. The strongest developmental phase of Urdu poetry was during 16th and 17th century that saw the appearance of many renowned poets and writers during the Muslim reign in Deccan, Bijapur and Golconda in India.
